Thing 23

Overall, this was an informative, and fun at times, exercise in internet trending.  As we started, I was familiar with the general use of search engines, but now I have a better feel for the more specialized sites like the blogging and image generating, for example. I personally won't be using most of these sites, but it is helpful to be aware of them, so as to be a help to others.

Kudos to the crew who guided us and to everyone!

Thing 23

So I'm sitting at my desk thinking about The 23 Things. I have to say I did have fun! I love being able to learn something new, which I did. Learning something new gives me a little time away from the ordinary and makes my day a little more exciting and interesting. I also learned some new things from staff members such as how to change the size of a video so when posted it would not over lap other items on a blog. So not only did I learn some new things from 23 Things but also from staff. Some of the exercises I already knew how to do, some were completely new. I won't use every thing from 23 Things but a few I've book marked from future use.

Thing 22

Only 5 questions on the survey! That was easy.

Thing 21

Thing 21 These are some of the sites I like: Igoogle, Youtube, Flickr, LibraryThing, Image Chief, JibJab and Time 50 Best Websites Lists. I think first I would find out what a patron is interested in. Then direct them to the Time 50 Best Websites List. This is a pretty cool site as it list some websites from money to family to social media. This way a patron instead of depending on me to give them some sites to look at, they can instead discover the sites that are based on their interests.

Thing 19 & 20

Thing 19-On the Best Websites 2010 I choose Etsy. It's a online bazaar for handmade items. It was an interesting site. I liked looking at the hand crafts. Some were really clever. Best Websites 2004 I choose testmyspeed.com which test my broadband connection to see what upload and download speeds my computer performs. The sites I choose were completely different from each other, but both were entertaining. Thing 20-Under the Communicate, show & share tab I choose the gmail. I'm not really sure why I choose that tool. I really don't need another email account. Maybe it's because I've already signed up for a lot of the other tools in that list. I've already signed up for a lot of the other tools such as google calender, picasa web album and google earth. I think IGoogle is a very practical tool. Google Calendar can keep you organized and Picasa Web Album will entertain.

Glad I'm not in Ohio right now!
